Join us for a review of the use of common psychotropic medications for clients who are typically seen in outpatient settings. Some of the topics covered include: importance of accurate diagnosing, importance of therapy, psychotropic interventions along with possible side effects and benefits, as well as an introduction to nontraditional interventions such as ketamine, canabis, and supplements.

Ernesto:
Ernesto is a native New Mexican who has spent his professional career serving New Mexico. Ernesto Santistevan received his PhD in clinical psychology from Gallaudet University in 1996 and an MS focusing on clinical psychopharmacology from New Mexico State University in 2014. He obtained prescribing privileges in 2015. He works as a prescribing clinical psychologist at the Life Link in Santa Fe and iNetMedRx2 in Las Cruces. He provides clinical and prescriptive services to children and adults with challenges ranging from ADHD, depression, anxiety to clients who have experienced long term homelessness, being victims of sexual trafficking, long term alcohol and drug dependence, and chronic mental illness including psychotic disorders and bipolar disorders.

This training is geared towards clinicians who would like to gain a foundational understanding of common psychotropic medications, including indicators and side effects.
$10 - Includes CEs.
All proceeds of this workshop will be donated to a local non-profit as these workshops are offered as a part of a series to increase educational opportunities for our local clinical community.

This training will provide 3 CEs (NM Counseling and Therapy Practice Board Provider Number CCE0209081).
To be eligible for CEs, you must attend with your camera on and sign in and out via the hat feature. Failure to do so will result in no CEs.
Training Objectives
Participants will be able to identify 3 medical conditions which may cause symptoms of depression or anxiety.
Participants will be able to list 3 medications which may cause symptoms of depression or anxiety.
Participants will be able to name 3 possible side effects of SSRIs and NDRIs.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
A New Hope Therapy Center’s Cancellation and Refund Policy will be as follows to assure consistency and is applicable to all trainings offered by A New Hope Therapy Center.

Registrations canceled on or before two weeks prior to the event is refundable but subject to a $25 administrative fee.

Registrations canceling with less than two weeks will not receive a refund. The refund and cancellation policy will not be waived. Registration fees may be transferred to another individual for the same event.

In the event A New Hope Therapy Center must cancel the conference due to unforeseen circumstances, A New Hope Therapy Center will refund the cost of registration. However, A New Hope Therapy Center does not assume responsibility for any additional costs, charges, or expenses; to include, charges made for travel and lodging.
