Madison (Madi) is a dedicated and compassionate therapist who specializes in a child/person-centered approach, is EMDR trained, working towards becoming a registered play therapist, and primarily works with children aged 4-14, as well as adults. I believe in empowering clients by focusing on their unique strengths and fostering a supportive environment where they can thrive.
With a bachelors and masters degree in social work, I have training in various therapeutic modalities, including play therapy, EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy. My work is rooted in the belief that children are resilient and capable of finding their own solutions when provided with the right tools and support.
My approach is characterized by my empathetic demeanor and my ability to create a safe and nurturing space for my clients, while maintaining mutual respect and dignity. I also work closely with families to understand each child's individual needs, tailoring my therapeutic techniques to ensure the most effective and personalized care.
In my spare time, I enjoy weight lifting, yoga, sourdough baking, and spending time with my loved ones and fur babies. I am eager to serve the community I love with kindness and diligence.
My Book Recommendations:
The Whole Brain Child by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson (Topics: parenting, child development)
Dibs: In Search of Self by Virginia Axline (Topics: play therapy)
