Howdy y’all! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and I have had a passion for mental health and advocacy since my teenage years. I’m from rural eastern New Mexico, and the scarcity of resources inspired me to become the clinician I needed as a kid.
I attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology, with a minor in Criminal Justice, in 2020. I immediately continued at New Mexico State University and, in 2023, earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a minor in Integrated Behavioral Health. As an intern, I worked in a variety of fields, including inpatient care and schools.
While practicing at a behavioral health hospital, I worked with a variety of people and specialized in working with children, teens, and adults experiencing suicidality. I also have years of experience in psychological assessment and evaluation, working primarily with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the autism spectrum, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma. I am comfortable with both in-person and telehealth appointments.
My past experiences in this field continue to inform how I approach and work with others. I describe my practice style as holistic and narrative, preferring to use a variety of methods to find what works best with my clients and where they are in their life story.
My defining motto is “Meet people where they are at”, and I prioritize flexibility and safety in my work. I enjoy the use of media in session, from quoting TV shows and movies to using songs and art as expression. I want to ensure that my space is safe so you can grow, heal, and find power in your life and stories.
