I believe healing begins with the stories we tell about ourselves — and the ones we sometimes feel stuck inside. Our experiences can shape the way we understand ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us, but they do not have to define what comes next.
My approach to counseling is grounded in narrative, somatic, person-centered, and trauma-informed therapy. Through narrative therapy, I help clients explore the stories they have carried with them and begin separating themselves from the problems they face. Together, we can make room for the parts of your story that may have been overshadowed — including moments of courage, resilience, resistance, connection, and hope — while creating space for new possibilities and ways of understanding yourself.

I also believe our bodies often carry experiences that words alone cannot fully express. Through somatic approaches, I invite clients to notice what is happening within the body, develop greater awareness of their nervous system, and build a deeper sense of safety and connection with themselves. Sometimes healing involves finding the words for what happened; other times, it begins by simply noticing what your body has been trying to communicate.

At the heart of my work is a person-centered belief that you are the expert on your own life. Therapy is not about me telling you who you should be or what your life should look like. My role is to bring curiosity, compassion, authenticity, and unconditional respect into the room while walking alongside you as we explore what healing and growth mean for you. When working with couples and families, I bring that same curiosity to the relationships themselves, creating space for each person’s experience to be heard while exploring the patterns, stories, strengths, and connections that exist between them. I strive to create a therapeutic space where each person’s voice, experience, and story are heard and valued.

I especially enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, identity, substance use and recovery, relationship challenges, major life transitions, and the complicated process of reconnecting with themselves and one another after difficult experiences. My work is strengths-based and collaborative, and I believe that even during the chapters of our lives when we feel most disconnected from ourselves or each other, there are often strengths, acts of survival, and moments of connection that deserve to be recognized.

Ultimately, my hope is that therapy can help you feel more at home in both your story and your skin — and, when working relationally, more connected to the people who matter to you. Whether we are untangling old narratives, reconnecting with the body, exploring relationship patterns, learning new ways of coping and communicating, or simply creating space for parts of yourself that have not always had permission to exist, you do not have to have everything figured out before you begin.

I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Mexico State University, with a minor in Integrated Behavioral Health. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New Mexico and have experience working with individuals, couples, and families across outpatient mental health, substance use treatment, and community-based settings.

I offer counseling services in both English and American Sign Language (ASL).
