What is Telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry is the application of telemedicine for psychiatric assessment and care through telecommunications technology, usually videoconferencing. At A New Hope Therapy Center – our provider will be available via computer while you, our client, will be in our confidential office setting.
So, the prescriber is not in the office with me?
Not physically, but they are present via the internet. Our medical assistant staff will help log you in on the computer for your virtual meeting with the psychiatric nurse practitioner.
Who else will be in the room?
Your meeting with the psychiatric nurse practitioner is confidential and as such, you will meet with them alone (or with a parent or guardian present as needed). We do ask that young children or other family members who are not the client being treated do not attend these meetings, to maintain the utmost confidence and timely appointment opportunity for you.
What about my prescription?
A New Hope Therapy Center is set up such that your prescription will be sent to your preferred pharmacy immediately following your appointment. The office does not have prescription pads or medication samples on hand.
I have a therapist at a different office, can I still be seen for medications?
We understand the lack of available psychiatric care in Las Cruces and the surrounding area. To our capacity we will accept clients for telepsychiatry services who are receiving therapy services at a different office. Please contact us to discuss this option further.
I would like additional information.
Great! Contact us and our office administrator will be happy to discuss the details further and schedule you with our provider!
