We are very excited to have our Clinical Internship Program! This allows us to have a few master level graduate students earn their clinical hours while providing much needed therapy to our community!

We offer our interns for low cost and a few pro bono appointment slots for those who need services but either lack insurance coverage or have an insurance that we are not contracted with. We believe in our program's ability to help fill the gaps for those in our community!

Helping other therapists become exceptional in their craft is a great privilege and responsibility. As the Intern Supervisor at A New Hope Therapy Center, this perspective informs an environment of learning where interns can thrive in applying their knowledge and gaining the experience needed to become very well rounded clinicians. My road to becoming a Marriage & Family Therapist began after my tenure as an associate pastor, and continued during and after completing graduate studies at Seattle Pacific University. I have served within community mental health and private practice settings, and thoroughly enjoy mentoring other clinicians.

Another passion is reaching the general population with information aimed at helping individuals, couples and families be emotionally and relationally whole. This endeavor often takes the form of writing and speaking in various forums. My areas of specialization include marital and premarital counseling, family therapy, helping men directly address needed emotional and relational concerns, navigating Christian spirituality within a counseling framework, and providing education on the harmful emotional and relational effects of pornography.

We love supporting our interns, but you don't have to take our word for it!

Hear from some of our former interns:

Marrina

"Interning at A New Hope Therapy Center was one of the greatest highlights during my masters program. The staff was phenomenal and super friendly which made my experience there very welcoming. I was able to gain so many new skills and see different approaches that really helped me along the way. Our supervisor challenged us, and help make me a better therapist in training. One thing that I learned, that stuck with me, is that we never stop learning, and we will always need support no matter how skilled we may be. Words do not justify how rewarding and honored I was to be able to intern at such an amazing placement."

Thank you for your interest in pursuing your clinical practicum with us!

"Interning with A New Hope Therapy Center was such a wonderful experience for me. The staff and clinicians were so helpful and welcoming and I got the experience and support that I needed to become confident in my work as an MFT."
